POSCO is recruiting Beyond 13th, the company’s global youth volunteer corps designed for community-oriented university students.
Prospective applicants can apply through the official Beyond website from April 29 to May 13. The application is open to both Korean and foreign nationals studying in Korea. Those enrolled in Korean universities from July 2019 through February 2020 are eligible to apply.
Beyond is one of POSCO’s core corporate citizenship endeavors designed to foster conscientious-minded future generations. In 2007, POSCO organized Korea’s first global volunteer corps aimed at such university students. Beyonders volunteered for house building projects in Korea and abroad, not only building houses in India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam but also actively participating in cultural exchange programs in the region. To this day, altogether 1,200 volunteers served at Beyond.
The Beyond 13th recruits will be inducted into the program on early July, and for the following eight months, the Beyonders will partake in various projects – building houses, teaching underprivileged children, and developing original programs to help address issues local communities are facing.
The short-listed applicants will be notified on May 22, and the finalists will be announced on June 11. More details regarding the application process can be found on the official Beyond website at www.beyond.or.kr
