28 April is Steel Safety Day. In line with the International Labor Organization’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work. worldsteel set up Steel Safety Day in 2014 to reinforce awareness of the five most common causes of safety incidents and to create a safer working environment across the entire steel industry worldwide.
Every year worldsteel assigns a focus theme based on but not limited to the top five causes of serious safety incidents: (1) machinery safety, (2) working at heights, (3) falling objects, (4) on-site Traffic and (5) process safety incidents.

To create a safer working environment in the steel industry, worldsteel have teamed up with 3M safety specialist David Baker to bring you our 10 top safety tips for working at heights which is the theme of this year’s Steel Safety Day.
POSCO’s commitment to safety
Member companies of the worldsteel deliver leadership messages on the year’s focusing theme of Steel Safety Day via social media channels of each company on the week of 28 April every year. Through the messages, all the members of the worldsteel reaffirm their endeavours to create a safe steel industry and advocate the communal will to create safe workplaces. POSCO also reaffirmed the resolution to safety by the message of Vice President Hakdong Kim.
